On February 22 & 23, 2014, about 65 paddlers from the US west coast region participated in an extensive Dragon Boat paddling clinic conducted by Coaches of the Dragon Boat USA national team. Try outs were also held for an opportunity to join the 2014 Dragon Boat Team USA that will compete in the ICF Dragon Boat World Championships in Poznan, Poland on August 28 – August 31, 2014.

With the World Championships happening this on August 28-31, 2014 in Poznan, Poland, it is especially important to help Team USA athletes financially because these athletes do not receive financial support or compensation to participate in the event. Expenses are often paid out of the pockets of the athletes. The financial responsibility upon making the team is one of the biggest challenges for athletes to represent our country.
